NORTH HOLLYWOOD STUDENTS PREPARE FOR WORLD PREMIERE OF MEREDITH WILLSON'S 'THE MUSIC MAN JUNIOR'
Two North Hollywood students get ready for their close-ups in the world premiere of Meredith Willson's "The Music Man Junior." The two middle school girls joined 48 other student cast members, 50 student orchestra members, and 25 student crew members for the first performance of Broadway Junior's adaptation of the famous American musical at Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood, California. Music Theatre International's Broadway Junior program works with authors of classic Broadway musicals to adapt them into special 70-minute editions for children ages 8-14 to perform. SAN DIEGO STUDENTS RECEIVE STANDING OVATION FROM THEATER OWNERS ATTENDING 2001 NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MUSICAL THEATER CONVENTION
San Diego students and Broadway Junior Project Director Tim McDonald were saluted with a standing ovation for their performance by theater owners attending the 2001 National Alliance for Musical Theater (NAMT) convention. The performance of songs from Broadway Junior titles at the Globe Theatre’s Outdoor Festival Stage was the culmination of Broadway Junior’s presentation on how local theaters can impact their individual communities by mentoring children. A division of Music Theatre International, Broadway Junior works with authors of classic musicals to adapt them into special editions for ages 8-14 to perform.

STUDENTS SHOW THEATER OWNERS THE PROPER WAY TO SET THE TABLE…AMONG OTHER THINGS AT PERFORMANCE FOR NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MUSICAL THEATER CONVENTION
San Diego students demonstrate proper table etiquette and the power of a children’s musical theatre productions to theater owners from throughout the United States when they performed “Fork, Knife, Spoon” from Broadway Junior title DEAR EDWINA JUNIOR at the 2001 annual convention for the National Alliance for Musical Theater (NAMT). A key goal of the convention was how local theaters can impact their individual communities by mentoring children. The students received a standing ovation for their dynamic performance of songs from Broadway Junior titles at the Globe Theatre’s Outdoor Festival Stage in San Diego. (The theater professionals also praised the students’ impeccable manners!) A division of Music Theatre International, Broadway Junior works with authors of classic musicals to adapt them into special editions for ages 8-14 to perform.

San Diego students illustrated how powerful a children’s musical theater production can be by “putting on a show” for regional theater owners at the 2001 annual convention for the National Alliance for Musical Theater (NAMT).
